What's the Situation?
Last year, eight women from your region completed a Young Female Professional mentoring program. They learned new skills and are primed to become future leaders of the organization. However, you've noticed that even after the program, you've noticed that most of these women are still quiet in meetings, and are not taking new responsibilities.

When you asked them about this, they remind you that the region's culture is still very patriarchal, and that they are not treated any differently than before they entered the mentorship program.

One woman summarize this and says, "we don't need mentoring, we need ongoing support and advocacy!"

How do you think that region should respond to that situation? Place your input in the comments. Interact with your peers by commenting on their inights as well.
